Date Wisely

Happy Friday, let's talk about dating as a creative – As some of you may know I started solo living in March after dealing with the ending of a long term relationship. I have my good and bad days but I am truly enjoying getting to know myself better as a single woman. It's totally a gift to be falling in love with myself during this season of expansion. 

Let's get into the fun stuff! How are all my single creative girls doing?! 

Are you dating for the hopes of partner or just to collect data? 

My last couple therapy sessions we discussed dating and if I'm really ready for that. She explained that a lot black women end up lonely because we constantly give the excuse that we're working on ourselves. We think we have to show up to our next partner or the dating world completely healed. You will never be completely healed because every stage of your life will require some level of unpacking. I've been on a few dates and it's been a lot of fun collecting data on what I actually like about people and even myself. The one concern I have is men seeing my instagram and studying that as a cheat code. As much as I love a slow tea pour and all my aesthetically pleasing moments, I am so much more! Are y'all having that issue? 

Dating for me is simply figuring out if I have a type, what I want in a partner and how I actually want to show up for someone. This is my fun, single and soft era! What era are you in?!
